Crafted in solid 18ct yellow gold, its sculptural, asymmetric form appears effortless at first glance. Yet the simplicity of the finished piece depends on a careful balance: the angle of the diamond, the space surrounding it and the way each gold line moves towards and away from the stone.

01 THE SCULPTURAL FORM

Where line
meets light.

At the centre of the Solene Necklace is an IGI-certified marquise-cut lab-grown diamond, held between two flowing lines of polished yellow gold.

Rather than suspending the diamond beneath the chain as a conventional pendant, the design places it within the composition itself. The diamond becomes part of the movement of the gold, creating a centrepiece that feels integrated rather than attached.

One line rises gently around the upper edge of the stone, while the other curves beneath it before continuing towards the opposite side of the necklace. Together, they create a sense of movement without relying on symmetry.

02 THE SHAPE OF LIGHT

Why the
marquise cut?

The marquise cut was chosen for its distinctive elongated silhouette. Its two tapered points naturally suggest direction, allowing the eye to follow the diamond through the surrounding gold lines.

Set at a subtle angle, the stone does not feel static. It appears to move with the curves around it, while its elongated facets catch and return light across the centre of the necklace.

A round diamond would have created a more centred and symmetrical composition. The marquise shape introduces tension and direction—qualities that are essential to the character of Solene.

Its brilliance provides a focal point, but its form is equally important. Here, the diamond is not only a source of light; it is part of the structure and rhythm of the design.

03 PROPORTION & SPACE

The balance
of asymmetry.

Line.
Light.
Space.

Asymmetry can easily feel unsettled when it is used without control. In the Solene Necklace, it is balanced through proportion and negative space.

The two gold curves do not mirror one another. Instead, they respond to each other: one rises as the other falls, and the open spaces between them allow the design to breathe.

This space is as important as the gold itself. It keeps the centrepiece visually light and allows the marquise diamond to remain clearly defined within the composition.

From a distance, the necklace appears clean and understated. Up close, the relationship between the curves, the diamond and the surrounding space reveals a more sculptural design.

04 THE QUIET CONNECTION

A chain designed
to recede.

For Solene, the chain was intentionally kept fine and familiar.

Unlike the centrepiece, it does not need to draw attention to itself. Its purpose is to create a quiet transition towards the sculptural gold form, allowing the eye to move naturally towards the diamond.

The delicate trace chain also creates a considered contrast with the polished curves at the centre: light and subtle at the neckline, more expressive as it approaches the stone.

This contrast gives the necklace its visual hierarchy. Nothing competes with the centrepiece, yet every element supports it.

05 THE MATERIAL

The warmth of
18ct yellow gold.

Solid 18ct yellow gold brings warmth and definition to the flowing lines of Solene. Its rich tone creates a soft contrast with the cool brilliance of the diamond, making the shape of both materials more visible.

The polished gold responds to movement differently from the faceted stone. Where the diamond produces sharper flashes of light, the surrounding curves create longer, softer reflections.

Together, they give the necklace a changing appearance as it is worn—sometimes defined by the diamond, and at other moments by the movement of light across the gold.

Is a chain included?

Check the product description and selected option for the chain supplied with your necklace. Pieces described as pendant only are supplied without a chain. If you are unsure what is included, please contact CIELA before ordering.

How do I choose the right necklace length?

Compare the stated length with a necklace you already enjoy wearing, measured from the clasp to the opposite end. You can also place a soft tape or piece of string around your neckline to preview where it will sit. The final position depends on your neckline and the size of the centrepiece.

Can I adjust the length or remove the centrepiece?

This depends on the design. Check for a stated extender or adjustment points; some necklaces have a fixed centrepiece that cannot be transferred to another chain. For a different length, please contact CIELA before ordering so we can check what is possible and advise on any cost or timing changes.

How should I care for my necklace?

Remove it before showering, swimming, exercise and sleep. Let perfume and skincare dry before putting it on. After wear, wipe gently with a clean, soft cloth and store it separately with the chain laid out to help prevent tangles. Take care when removing scarves or knitwear around fine chains and settings.

Are the diamonds certified and the metal hallmarked?

CIELA centre diamonds of 0.50ct and above are supplied with an IGI grading report. This threshold applies to each centre diamond, not the total diamond weight of the piece or pair. Each report covers the specified diamond, rather than every smaller stone in the jewellery. Precious-metal jewellery is independently assayed and hallmarked where required.

When will my order be dispatched?

Check the estimate beside the Add to Cart button for your selected piece. In Stock jewellery that is ready can leave in as little as 1–2 working days; pieces awaiting UK hallmarking usually need 10–15 working days. Made to Order pieces generally need 4–5 weeks.

These are preparation times before dispatch. The product-specific estimate takes priority; delivery time follows separately.

Is delivery complimentary?

Yes. UK delivery is complimentary with no minimum spend, using Royal Mail Special Delivery. Estimated UK delivery is 3 working days after dispatch, subject to carrier delays.

Delivery is also complimentary to available destinations in Europe and North America. Delivery after dispatch is estimated at 3 working days for Europe and 5 working days for other available destinations. CIELA covers applicable import duties and import taxes. You will not be charged these separately at checkout or on delivery. Available destinations are shown at checkout.

Can I return my necklace?

You can request a return for an eligible necklace within 30 calendar days of signed-for delivery. Eligible UK returns are free, with Royal Mail home collection available. International change-of-mind return postage and related customs charges are the customer’s responsibility.

Standard Made to Order pieces remain eligible under our normal returns conditions. Personalised, engraved, specially resized and bespoke pieces are excluded from change-of-mind returns. Your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described are unaffected.
