The right fit makes all the difference. Our printable ring sizer offers a simple way to estimate your UK ring size at home.
Print the guide on A4 paper at 100% scale, with “Fit to page” switched off. Check that the reference box measures 170 mm by 50 mm, then follow the instructions to cut out and use the paper sizer.
The loop should sit comfortably and pass over your knuckle with gentle resistance. If you’re between sizes or considering a wider band, our customer care team can help with guidance.

International size conversions are approximate and may vary by country and jeweller. For the most accurate fit, we recommend using the inside diameter or circumference measurements.
Our printable ring size guide is designed to help you estimate your size at home, but it should be used as a guide rather than a substitute for professional measurement.
If your CIELA ring does not feel quite right when it arrives, please contact CIELA Client Services before arranging any alteration. Depending on the design, metal and setting, resizing may be possible.
Certain styles, including some eternity rings, full pavé bands and gemstone-set designs, may have limited resizing options due to their construction. Our team will review the individual piece and advise you on the most suitable next step.
Finding the right ring size without giving away the surprise can be one of the more challenging parts of planning a proposal.
One of the simplest methods is to borrow a ring your partner already wears comfortably and measure its inside diameter using our Ring Size Guide.
For the most accurate estimate, try to choose a ring worn on the same finger and hand. If this is not possible, a ring worn on a neighbouring finger can still provide a useful reference, although the final size may need to be adjusted.
You can also send CIELA Client Services a clear photograph of the ring placed against a millimetre ruler. We can help you compare the measurement with our available UK sizes.
If borrowing a ring is likely to be noticed, there are a few other discreet ways to estimate the size.
You can carefully trace the inside edge of one of your partner's rings onto a piece of paper, making sure the outline is as accurate as possible. Alternatively, place the ring over a ruler and photograph the inside diameter.
Friends or family may also be able to help, particularly if they already know your partner's ring size or can find out without raising suspicion.
If you are still uncertain between two sizes, contact CIELA Client Services via WhatsApp before placing your order. We can help you assess the most suitable option based on the ring design and measurements available.
Yes. The width and construction of a ring can influence how it feels on the finger.
A wider band generally feels more fitted than a slim band in the same nominal size because more metal is in contact with the finger. For this reason, some wider styles may feel more comfortable in a slightly larger size.
Ring stacks can create a similar effect, while heavier or top-set designs may require a more secure fit to help reduce movement.
When choosing your size, consider not only the measurement of your finger, but also the width, profile and overall design of the ring.
Once you have a clearer idea of the right ring size, the next step is choosing a design that feels right for the person who will wear it.
Our team can help you consider the details that shape the character of a ring, including the diamond or gemstone shape, cut, setting style, metal colour, band width and overall proportions.
For engagement rings, these choices are not only about appearance. They also influence how the ring feels on the hand, how easily it can be worn every day and how it may sit alongside a future wedding band.
If you are choosing a ring together, take time to compare different shapes, metals and settings and consider which design best reflects your lifestyle, personal style and preferences.
If you would like guidance before ordering, contact CIELA Client Services via WhatsApp and we can help you narrow down the most suitable options.
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR RING SIZE
Finding the right fit is an essential part of choosing a ring you’ll enjoy wearing every day.
If you don’t have a printer at home, you can still measure your ring size using one of our simple at-home methods. Use a ring that already fits comfortably, or measure your finger carefully and compare the result with our UK ring size guide.
For the most accurate result, measure more than once and avoid measuring when your hands are unusually hot, cold or swollen.
