YOUR RING SIZE

There are several ways to check your size before you buy that perfect ring.

STEP ONE

Choose a ring that already fits the intended finger comfortably. For the most accurate result, use a ring normally worn on the same finger and hand.

Measure the inside diameter of your ring

STEP TWO

Place the ring flat against a millimetre ruler and measure straight across the widest part of the opening, from one inside edge to the other. Do not include the metal band itself.

Compare the ring diameter with the CIELA size chart

STEP THREE

Record the inside diameter in millimetres and compare it with the CIELA Ring Size Conversion table below to find your corresponding UK size from J to Q.

What if the Ring Still Turns Out to Be the Wrong Fit?

If your CIELA ring does not feel quite right when it arrives, please contact CIELA Client Services before arranging any alteration. Depending on the design, metal and setting, resizing may be possible.

Certain styles, including some eternity rings, full pavé bands and gemstone-set designs, may have limited resizing options due to their construction. Our team will review the individual piece and advise you on the most suitable next step.

What if You're Planning a Surprise Proposal?

Finding the right ring size without giving away the surprise can be one of the more challenging parts of planning a proposal.

One of the simplest methods is to borrow a ring your partner already wears comfortably and measure its inside diameter using our Ring Size Guide.

For the most accurate estimate, try to choose a ring worn on the same finger and hand. If this is not possible, a ring worn on a neighbouring finger can still provide a useful reference, although the final size may need to be adjusted.

Alternative Ring Sizing Options

If borrowing a ring is likely to be noticed, there are a few other discreet ways to estimate the size.

You can carefully trace the inside edge of one of your partner's rings onto a piece of paper, making sure the outline is as accurate as possible. Alternatively, place the ring over a ruler and photograph the inside diameter.

Friends or family may also be able to help, particularly if they already know your partner's ring size or can find out without raising suspicion.

Does the Style of Ring Affect My Ring Size?
